I had an incredible dinner @tableaubarbistro this evening. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food was divine.
I was super disappointed when my waiter told me that they weren't serving the lobster pot pie tonight due to an oven issue. I had drooled over their menu earlier today and that was what I had decided I wanted.
I consoled myself by ordering a cocktail and eating all the fresh, chewy bread and butter.
I ended up ordering the special, roasted sable fish on lentils with roasted mushrooms and bacon lardons in a mushroom consomme,and a side of roasted brussel sprouts. It was delicious. No regrets! I enjoyed a glass of Sancerre with it -- crisp and light versus a chardonnay which may have overpowered the dish.
Of course, I couldn't resist dessert! And I didn't even order the crème brûleé!!! I went with the Vacherin -- a meringue with lemon custard, vanilla gelato and chantilly crème with candied lemon peel. A perfect end to dinner. (No photo because it turned out blurry and a little obscene looking 🤣)
